It was basically just a way to get from point A to point B quickly without suffocating. I think that the Seamoth was okay in Subnautica, but functionally was dull. Another could be a semi-portable teleporter pad. One of these loads could be a semi-portable grav-aquarium. One that could pick up and carry large scale, semi-portable, loads. ![]() 2) nix the current seatruck concept, and redesign it as dedicated, one-piece mid-sized sub. Personally, if the decision were mine, I'd 1) bring the seamoth back as is. Even if there's some limitation that requires the teleport module to be mobile, for example being within range of a target gate, then too, building a small outpost within that range would be just as viable.īy attempting to be somewhere between a seamoth and a cyclops, the sea truck so far has failed at being either, delivers neither of the predecessors strengths. And if a teleport module can be built for the seatruck, surely a teleport gate can be built in a multipurpose room just as easily. ![]() There needs to be a matching teleport gate on the other side. It offers the ability to teleport to other teleport stations. The teleport module has some interesting possibilities. Teleport Module: Also in the design phase. All of which were available with the cyclops. Still unknown is if it will allow direct access into the sea truck without having to go outside, and/or direct access to upgrades and storage. Prawn suit dock module: Still in the design phase, this module allows the docking and hauling of a prawn suit. But is the whole seatruck concept justified by the use of this one module? A new grav-trap-aquarium base facility would be just as effective (if well placed) and leverage all the pre-existing facilities a built base would have to offer. The aquarium module: This seems to be the gem so far. And if on-board storage were added to the base truck (as stated earlier) this module would be redundant. It does not have enough storage to truly be worth the expense of fabrication and pulling around. The sea truck storage module: So far the opinions seem overwhelmingly negative. A base's fabricator is already in-game, and if the vehicle upgrade console were in Below Zero, it could build the upgrades and render the truck's fabricator module redundant. The sea truck fabrication module: It can build anything a base fabricator can build, in addition, it can build upgrade modules for the truck itself. And if you attach a storage module, you loose much of the mobility and tight quarters maneuvering the seamoth gave you. If the base seatruck ever gets on-board storage, it would render the storage module at least partially redundant. The base seatruck is as mobile and agile as a seamoth, but the seamoth was expandable with on-board storage. If you look at it's capabilities, and compare it to original Subnautica gameplay there isn't much it offers as "new". ![]() The only exception would be the aquarium module. Nor does it seem to accomplish existing game play nearly as well as its predecessors. It doesn't add anything significant to game play compared to its predecessors. ![]() Granted, it's not done yet, but early returns don't seem to be glowing. "It can't do this as well as the cyclops" "It can't do that."Īnd I wonder, was part of the design at fault for this discussion? In trying to make a "hybrid" between the seamoth and the cyclops, did they fail at both? Is it a failure? And many of the discussions have been comparing it to the Cyclops. It is crafted in the Fabricator. The seatruck has become the hottest topic this side of the deep sea lava beds. The blueprint for this item is unlocked by scanning fragments in the Arctic Kelp Caves and the Twisty Bridges or Sea Monkey Nests in the Arctic Kelp Caves. The player can pick up the Mobile Vehicle Bay by looking at the metal platform and pressing LMB. Be warned that being under a Prawn Suit after it is built and sinking will damage Robin. When the player selects a vehicle to construct, the Printer Pods will swarm out in front of the Mobile Vehicle Bay to build the vehicle. The base of the Mobile Vehicle Bay houses four Printer Pods that will activate themselves and float above the Mobile Vehicle Bay when the player approaches. When released by the player, it will float to the surface and unfold itself.
